Etymology: Korean, byeoljubaracer in Sugungga, one of the epic tales of Pansori (a tradiontal Korean ?musical storytelling art), and Greek, chelys, "turtle".

Species: yeosuensis KIM, JUNG, JOYCE, PARK, JUNG, JO & HUH, 2025
Etymology: In reference to Yeosu City, wehre teh fossil was found.

Holotype: KDRC-YS-SR-991

Locality: Yeosu City, Soneuk island, Yeosu, Nagwol-myeon District, Republic of South Korea.

Horizon: Hasandong Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Near the Aptian/Albian Stage Boundary, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Late Early Cretaceous Epoch, Late Early Cretaceous.

Material:A partial skeleton consistiong of a nearly complete shell, 2 cervical vertebrae, fragmentary thoracic vertebrae, 1 sacral vertebra, both scapulae and coracoids, the left ilium, and ischium, both pubes, the right humerus and ulna, the left femur, both tibiae, fibulae, and pedal remains.
