Etymology: In honor of Dr. P. –L. Maubeuge, for his contribution to the knowledge of the geology and paleontology of the Lorraine area and for his active participation in the exploration of the quarry of Saint-Nicolas-De-Port.

Etymology: Latin, lotharingicus, -a, -um, for Lorraine, north-eastern France.

Holotype: IRSNB R172

Locality: Saint-Nicolas-de-Port, Rosieres-aux-Salines, Meurthe-et-Moselle Department, France.

Material: A left upper postcanine, with its root nearly completely preserved.
