Genus: Parvosaurus FREISEM, MÜLLER, SUES & SOBRA, 2024
Etymology: Latin, parvus, "small" and Latin, sauus, "lizard." in reference to its small size.

Species: harudensis FREISEM, MÜLLER, SUES & SOBRA, 2024
Etymology: In reference to the Harz Mountains in Germany (harud being a historic naem for HArzgau, including Halberstadt) where the specmen was discovered.

Holotype: MB.R.4520.2

Locality: Baerecke-Limpricht brick-clay pit along teh present-day highway B79 between Halberstadt and Quedlinburg, near Halberstadt, Sachsen-Anhalt State, Germany.

Horizon: Arnstadt Formation, Middle Keuper Subgroup.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Alaunian-Sevatian, Norian Stage, Upper Late Triassic, Late Triassic.

Material: Small skull and dentary comprissing of both nasals, premaxillae and maxillae, complete right and fragmented left parietal, postorbital, jugal and squamosal, fragmentary palate, a right maxilla and left dentary, including maxillary as well as mandibular teeth and fragmentary braincase.

Note: Found in teh same black as the holotype of Elchistosuchus huenei.
