Genus: Eotephradactylus KLIGMAN, WHATLEY, RAMEZANI, MARSH, LYSON, FITCH, PARKER & BEHRENSMEYER, 2025
Etymology: Greek, eos, "Greek mythology for goddess of the dawn", Greek, tephra, "ash" and Greek, dactylus, "finger": a commong suffix
in pterosaur names. In reference to the orignial volcanic ash that yielded the high precision U-Pb date and to Pliot Rock, and teh more recent (Miocene-Pliocene) volcanic peak in the northern part of Petrified Forest Natinoal Monument.

Etymology: In honor of Suzanne McIntire, who discovered the spcimen during micropreparation of the quarry block, adn who prepared and curated most of the fossils from PFV 393.
