Etymology: Arthur, in honor of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle whose imaginative Lost World story inspired so many children, Greek, dactylus, “finger”: “Arthur’s finger”.

Species: conandoylei FREY & MARTILL, 1994 (emend from conan-doylei)
Etymology: Also in honor of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Holotype: SMNK 1132 PAL

Locality: Capada do Araripe, Southern Ceara State, North-east Brazil.

Horizon: Nova Olinda Member, Crato Formation.


Age: Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Uppermost Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Incomplete articulated skeleton.
