Genus: Telkaralura von BAZKO, EZCURRA, LECUONA, VEGA & DESOJO, 2025
Etymology: Kakan, a native language spoken by the Diaguitas communities in northwestern Argentina (Cejas, 2024), Telkara, "mother earth," and Kakan, lura, "lizard": Mother Earth Lizard.

Etymology: In honor of CONICET (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Cientificas y Tecnicas), the governmental institution that has promoted scientific and technological development in Argentina since 1958.

Locality: Los Chanares locality, Ischigualasto-Villa Union Basin, La Rioja Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Chanares Formation

Biostratigraphy: Massetognathus-Chanaresuchus Assemblage Zone.

Age: Early Carnian Stage, Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.

Material: Partial skull including both premaxillae, maxillae, nasals, jugals, palatines, left frontal, postorbital, squamosal, parietal, pterygoid and fragmetn of right pterygoid.
