Genus: Sillosuchus ALCOBER & PARRISH, 1997
Etymology: In honor of William Sill, in recognition of his numerous and significant contributions to both South American Triassic paleontology and the systematics and anatomy of basal archosaurs, Suchuscrocodilian; reflecting the sister group relationships of Poposauridae and Crocodylomorpha.

Species: longicervix ALCOBER & PARRISH, 1997
Etymology: specific designation in recognition of the elongation of the cervical vertebral series in Sillosuchus.

Locality: “Cancha de Bochas” Locality, Ischigualasto, Department of Valle Fertil, San Juan Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Ischigualasto Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Carnian Stage, Lower Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.

Material: 5 cervical vertebrae, the last 4 dorsal vertebrae, 5 sacrals, and the first eight caudal vertebrae, (the dorsals, sacrals and caudals preserved in articulation), both femora, pubes, and ischia, a partial right ilium and a single parameidan plate.
