Etymology: Warg in reference to a beast of J.R.R. Tolkien's mythology, and Greek, souchos, refers to the Egyptian crocodile god.

Species: australis MARTINELLI & PAIS, 2008
Etymology: Australis in reference to the southern geographical location of the holotype.

Holotype: MOZ-PV 6134

Locality: Northern region of the Neuquen City, Neuquen Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Bajo de La Carpa Formation, Rio Colorado Subgroup, Neuquen Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Santonian Stage, Lower Senonian Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Fragment of right premaxilla and maxilla, and portion of the skull roof.
