Etymology: In honor of Susanne Henssen, who prepared the holotype, and Latin, suchus, ‘crocodile’.

Etymology: Latin, anas, "duck" and Latin, caput, "head"; In reference to the duck-like nature of the caput (head), with its long dorsoventrally flattened rostrum maxillae.

Holotype: SMNK 3804 PAL

Locality: Sonewhere within the quarrying region in the Caririucu Valley, Araripe Basin, Ceara State, Northeastern Brazil.

Horizon: Nova Olinda Member, Crato Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Uppermost Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Skull, mandible and partial postcranial axial skeleton, forelimbs and portions of the ostodermal skeleton.

Referred material:

MPSC-R1137: A complete partially articulated right hind limb, including femur, tibia, fibula and pes.

MPSC-R1136: Partially articulated postcranial remains comprising cervical and dorsal vertebrae, bones of the pectoral girdle including the right forelimb, and osteoderms from the dorsal shield.

GP/2E 9267: Skull, mandible and partial postcranial axial skeleton (dorsal, sacral, and caudal vertebrae) artifically amalgamated and possibly representing 2 specimens.

Species: jaguaribensis FORTIER & SCHULTZ, 2009
Etymology: After Jaguaribe, the name of an important perennial river that provides water for the Iguatu region, Ceara State, north-east Brazil.

Holotype: UFRGS-PV0001K

Locality: South of Lim Campos dam, at the municipality of Ico, Ceara State, north-east Brazil.
