Etymology: In reference to Tholly Creek Formation from which the fossils were collected.

Holotype: Tx VP 41881-1

Locality: Briar Site Locality, east-southeast of the town of Dierks, Howard County, Arkansas.

Horizon: Holly Creek Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aptian-Albian Stage, Late Gallic Subepoch, Late Early Cretaceous Epoch, Late Early Cretaceous.

Material: Nearly complete skull.
