Etymology: In reference to Tiki, Madhya Pradesh State, India, a village located close to its occurrence and Greek, therium, "beast."

Species: copei DATTA, 2005
Etymology: In honor of Edward Drinker Cope for his pioneering contributions towards our understanding of the evolution of mammalian molars.

Holotype: Pal./CHQ-009

Locality: 4 km southwest of Tiki village, 23°55'N, 81°22'E, falling within the Survey of India toposheed No. 64E/5, within the south Rewa Gondwana Basin, Madhya Pradesh State, India.

Horizon: Lower part of the Tiki Formaiton, Upper Gondwana Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Carnian Stage, Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.

Material: Left upper molar.
