Genus: Kielanobaatar KUSHUHASHI, HU, WANG, SETOGUCHI & MATSUOKA, 2010
Etymology: In honor of Dr. Zofia Kielan-Jaworowska, who is one of the leading specialists of Mesozoic mammals and has greatly contributed to our understanding of Asian Mesozoic mammals, including multituberculates and Mongolian, baatar, "hero."

Etymology: In reference to the type locality, Badaohao, Heishan County, Liaoning Province, China.

Holotype: IVPP V14505

Locality: Badaohao, Heishan County, Liaoning Province, China.

Horizon: Shahai Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aptian-Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Fragment of left maxilla with two premolars, probably P1 and P3.
