Etymology: Chinese, Ju chi, "sawtooth," in reference to the 'tricondont' postcanine pattern, and Greek, lestes, "rober," a common suffix for mammalian fossil taxa.

Etymology: In reference to where the specimen was found, Liaoning Province, China.

Holotype: D2607

Locality: Lujiatun site, Beipiao, western Liaoning Province, China.

Horizon: Yixan Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Nearly complete skull and dentary.
