Etymology: In reference to Lufeng, the county the holotype came from.

Holotype: IVPP V8685

Locality: Heiguopeng /(heikuopeng) locality, Lufeng City, Yunnan Province, China.

Horizon: Upper Lufeng Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Hettangian?-Pliensbachian Stage, Lias Epoch, Early Jurassic.

Material: A partial skull with partial mandibles and postcannines.
