Etymology:
In reference to the type locality Mas-d'Azil, and Greek, lestes, "robber." In allusion to the small size of many insectivore-like mammals form the Cretaceous and Paleogene.

Etymology: In honor of Jean-Claude Rage as a tribut to his memory and to his major contribution on the study of Cretaceous European microvertebrates.

Locality: Mas-d'Azil (Capens), Ariege, Plantaurel massif, Northern Pyrences, France.
Horizon: Upper part of the Gres de Lebarre Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early Maastrictiona Stage, Upper Senonian Subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: Fragment of left dentary with damaged m1 and m2.

Species: yvettae GHEERBRANT, ALLAIN & LAURENT, 2026
Etymology: In honor of our esteemed colleague and friend Yvete Tanbareau (1938-2008), in particular for her contributions and extensive knowledge of the geology and stratigraphy of the Creaceous and Palaeogene formations of the Petites Pyrenees, as well as her invaluable assistiance with field research for microvertebrates in these formations.
