Etymology: xeno-, -donto and lacerta, meaning lizard with strange teeth, reflecting th edistinctive diagnostic feature of this new species, its unusual tooth morphology.

Etymology: In honor of Professor Jing-Yun Fang for his contributions to the research on carbon cycling, forest ecology and biodiversity.

Locality: Huadong Cheng Construction, Zhanggong District, Gonzhou City, Ganzhou Basin, Jiangxi Province, China.

Horizon: Hekou Formation, Guifeng Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Cretaceous.

Material: Incomplete skull with lower jaws.
