Genus: Sarabosaurus POLCYN, BARDET, ALBRIGHT III & TITUS, 2023
Etymology: Arabic word, sarab, "desert mirage" and Greek, sauros, "lizard," the lizard of teh desert mirage pays homage to the mirages often seen in the hot Tropic Shale badlands in the summer, which provided but a glimpse of the life that flourished in the long vanished Cretaceous Western Interior Seaway.

Etymology: In honor of the many contributions of Steve Dahl, longtime volunteer at Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Kanab, Utah.

Holotype: UMNH VP21800

Locality: GLCA site 317, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Kane County, Utah.

Biostratigraphy: Lower part of the Mytiloides kossmati Inoceramid biozone, upper Pseudaspidoceras flexuosum North American ammonoid biozone.

Age: Early Turonian Stage, Uppermost Gallic Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Fragment of cranium, mandible, cervical, dorsal pygal and caudal vertebrae.
