Species: amondol WOOLLEY, SERTICH, MELSTROM, IRMIS & SMITH, 2025
Etymology: Derived from the fictional Elvish Sindarin language in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Hobit, The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillon and other works. A combination of Amon (Elvish, Sindarin), amondol, "mound", and Elvish, Sindarin, -dol, "head", named for the mound-like, fused osteoderms that covered the skull (maxilla, jugal).

Locality: UMNH VP LOC 733, Fossil Ridge field area, Kane County, Utah.
Horizon: Lower half of the middle unit of the Kaiparowits Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Judithian age, Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: A partial right jugal, anterior tip of the right vomer, a partial left palatine, incomplete right quadrate, fragments of the left and right dentaries, maxilla, premaxilla, jugal, posterior thoracic vertebrae, lumbar vertebrae, proximal, middle and distal caudal vertebrae, portions of the left and right scaulocoracoid, a mostely complte left ilum, a metapodal (possibly a radiale), as well as numerous associated vertebrial, rib, and limb fragments.
