Etymology: In reference to Uruguay, the country in which the specimen was found.

Species: liminea PINEIRO, MARSICANO & LORENZO, 2007
Etymology: Latin, limine, "boundary"; with reference to the stratigraphic postion of the specimen close to the Permo/Triassic boundary.

Holotype: FC-DPV 1598

Locality: Colonia Orozco Town, Cerro Largo Department (County), Parana Basin, Uruguay.

Horizon: Buena Vista Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Permian-Early Triassic.

Material: Fragmentary skull.
