Etymology: The specific name comes from In Amenas, city of the Illizi Province (Southeast Algeria), the closest to the type locality.

Locality: "La Reculee" area, Zarzaitine district, In Amenas region, southern Algeria.

Horizon: "Formation 0" (= "Gres Inferieurs" or Lower Sandstone unit), lower section of the Zarzaitine Series of the Illizi Basin.
