Etymology:

Holotype: UTGD 80738

Locality: Meadowbank Dam Locality. The Site consists of deposits exposed through evacation in the bed of the Derwent River at the site of Meadowbank Dam, 75330N and 47550E, Tasmania.

Horizon: Knocklofty Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Induan stage-Olenekian stage, upper Scythian Epoch, Early Triassic.

Material: Skull.

Paratypes:

Locality: Old Beach Locality, the fossil-bearing stratum is a clay-pebble conglomerate lens exposed in a road cut that roughly follows the east bank of the Derwent River from Ridson to Old Beach, 73200N and 51550E, Tasmania.

Horizon: Knocklofty Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Induan stage,-Olenekian stage, upper Scythian Epoch, Early Triassic.

Material: A nearly complete skull.

Locality: Midway Point Locality, the locality lies on the shore platform of the western coast of the Midway Point peninsula, which projects into Pitt Water from the north, 73070N and 53630E, Tasmania.

Locality: Conningham Locality, the fossiliferous area is a 100-m-long stretch of low sea cliffs, on the south coast of Northwest Bay about 0.8 km west of the coastal community of Conningham, 69690N and 51460E, Tasmania.
