Etymology:

Holotype: KUVP 5962 (1430 of LANE, 1932)

Locality: Eureka Mine, about 1 mile west of Paris, Loan County, Arkansas.

Horizon: Savanna Formation, Allegheny Group, a bed of semianthracite coal within the Paris Shale.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Asturian, Late Pennsylvanian Subperiod, Late Carboniferous Period.

Material: Femur.
