Etymology: In honor of the director of the Museo de Ciencias Naturales de la Univrsidad Nacional San Juan, Lic. Alfredo Monetta.

Holotype: In situ.

Locality: Nueva peninsula, 15 km from Picun Leufo, Neuquen Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Lower Candeleros member, Rio Limay Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Gallic Subepoch-Cenomanian Stage?, Uppermiddle Gallic Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
