Etymology: In reference to Lufeng, where the tracks were found, Lufeng County,
Yunnan Province, China, and Greek, pus, 'foot': Lufeng Foot.
Species: dongi LU, AZUMA, WANG, LI & PAN, 2006
Etymology: In honor of the famous dinosaur expert, Professor Zhiming Dong
of Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, who made great
contributions to the study adn protection of Lufeng Dinosaurs.
Holotype: HYMVC-1
Locality: Beikeshan (Shelled hill) near Yaozhan, 1 km southeast to Chuanjie, N24°7'49.4", E102°4'v1.4", Lufeng County, Yunnan Province, China.
Horizon: Second member of the Upper Lufeng Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Middle Jurassic.
Material: Natural mold of left footprint.
