Etymology: In honor of John B. Hatcher, who originally figured and referred specimen in 1903 and Greek, Ichnos, “trace”: Hatecher’s foot.

Etymology: After San Juan County, Utah.

Holotype: CU-MWC 197./1, 197.2

Locality: Gray Daun Mine, along Two Mile Creek on the east slope of the La Sal Mountains, San Juan County, Utah.

Horizon: Salt Wash Member, Morrison Formation.

Biostratigraphy: Zone 2.

Age: Comobluffian age, Kimmeridgian Stage, uppermost Malm Epoch, Late Jurassic.
