Ichnogenus: Champsosaurichnus LOCKLEY & HUNT, 1995
Etymology: From champosaur alluding to the champsosaurian reptile and form the Greek, ichnus, "trace, track."

Ichnospecies: parfeti LOCKELY & HUNT, 1995
Etymology: From the name of the quarry owner, Chip Parfet of the Parfet Clay Pits, which yielded the holotype.

Holotype: CU-MWC 223.2

Locality: Triceratops Trail (also known as Clay Pits, Fossil Trace, Parfet Clay Pit) exposures east of 6th Avenue and south of 19th Street, northwest of Denver, Jefferson County, Colorado.

Horizon: Laramie Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Lancian Age, upper Maastrichtian Stage, uppermost Senonian Subepoch, Upper Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Plaster cast of pes.
