Etymology: In reference to the Bromacker locality, Germany and Latin, ichnus, "trace".

Etymology: Latin, requiescens, "resting".
Holotype: MNG 1821
Locality: Bromacker locality, of the middle part of the Thuringian Forest near the Village of Tambach-Dietharz and about 20 km south of the town of Gotha, Gotha District, Thuringa State, central Germany.
Horizon: Uppermost level of 60 m thick middle sandstone unit, Tambach Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Lowermost unit of the upper Rotliegend Epoch, Early Permian.
