Etymology: Greek, -pro, "First" and the shark genus Heptrachias.

Etymology: In honor of Peter Lowe (Hornby Island Fossil Shark Team Member) for makign all his discoveries ()from throughout B.C) freely available in science for study.

Holotype: RBCM P1197

Locality: Collishaw Point Site, (197 teeth), and Manning Point site (58 teeth), Hornby Island, British Columbia Province, Canada.

Horizon: Northumberland Formation, Nanaimo Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material:Tooth.
