Etymology: Alluding to the close affinity of thei new fossil genus with modern centrophorids such as the genus Centrophorus.

Biostratigraphy: Levels with  ‘Actinocamax plenus’ [= Praeactinocamax plenus] and ‘Rhynchonella octoplicata.

Age: Late Cenomanian Stage, Late Gallic Subepoch, Early Gulf Epoch, Middle Cretaceous.
