Etymology:From North Lanarkshire, teh area in Scotland where the new lungfish have been found, and Greek, odous, "tooth."

Etymology: In honor of Dr. Neil Clark, Curator of Palaeontology, The Hunterian Museum, Universiyt of Glasgow, for his support and encouragment in teh search for new vertebrate fossils in the mining wast of the Central Coalfield.

Locality: Shale overlying the Drumgray Coals, Dewshill Colliery waste tip, Dewshill, North lanarkshire, Scotland.

Horizon: Communis Chronozone, Lower Coal Measures Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Pennsylvanian, Late Carboniferous.
