Genus: Jemalongia YOUNG, 2024
Etymology: In reference to the Jemalong Range of cental New South Wales, Australia.
Species: ritchiei YOUNG, 2024
Etymology: In honor of the late Alexander Ritchie (15 August 1935-16 November 2023), who first learnt about the Jemalong fossil site and conducted excavations there in the 1970s, when he was curator of fossils at the Australian Museum.
Holotype: ANU V1899
Locality: Quarry near Jemalong Weir, about 20 km west of Forbes, New South Wales State, Australia.
Horizon: Cloghnan Shale, Lowest formation of the Hervey Group.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Givetian Stage, Mid Devonian Epoch, Late Middle Devonian-Frasnian Stage, Early Late Devonian Epoch, Early Late Devonian.
Material: Incomplete left cleithrum.

Locality: Bundaburra Quarry, about 30 km southwest of Forbes, New South Wales State, Australia.
