Etymology:
= Crocodilus affuvelensis MATHERON, 1869

Neotype: MNHM. 15427.0

Locality: Fuveau-Gardanne ('la Grande Mene') Lignite Mine, HBCM, Arc Syncline, Valdonne, Fuvelia Basin, Bouches-du-Rhone Department, France.

Horizon: Fuveau lignite Formation (Fuvelian lignites), Lower part of teh two "Etages de Fuveau" (Matheron, 1869, "Fuvelien" (Matheron, 1878).

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Uppermost Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Cranium from the posterior end of the naris to the anteriormost corner of the supratemporal feenestra.

Syntype:

MNHM.4759: Fragmetn of head with remains of two maxillae, lower and upper, each with some posterior teeth.
