Etymology: Gnatusuchus from Quechua Natu, "small nose" and Greek, souchos, "crocodile."

Etymology: From Pebas, after the old Amazonian village of Pebas, Peru, from wich teh source geological formation was named.

Locality: Locality IQ114, Iquitos area, Fernando Lores District, Peru.

Horizon: Pebas Formation.

Biostratigraphy: Mollusc Zone 8.

Age: Late Middle Miocene Epoch, Neogene Period, Lower Quaternary Subera, Cenozoic Era.

Material: Nearly complete skull.
