Material: Skull with mandible with lacks the occiput.

Referred material:

ST-7066: Partially disarticulated skull lacking the premaxillae.

ST-344: Fragment of cranial table with occiput (previously figured and identified as Diplocynodon aff. gracilis by Jimenex-Fuentes 1983)

ST-7320 and ST-7505: Isolated mandibular elements.

Species: elavericus MARTIN, 2010
Etymology: ‘elavericus’ referes to the Latin name of Allier River: Elaver. Note that Bravard (1843) used ‘Crocodilius elaveris’ to designate various crocodilian remains from Allier but did not provide any description, nor did he figure any specimens. As Vaillant (1872) pointed out, this early mention cannot be considered as having any right of priority over Diplocynoond ratelii, given the absence of a description or figure. ‘Crocodilus elaveris’ should be considered as a nomen nudum.

Locality: Cluj-Manastur former limestone quarry, Cluj-Nopoca, Transylvania, Romania.

Horizon: Cluj Limestone Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Priabonian Stage, Late Eocene Epoch, Late Middle Paleogene Period, Lower Tertiary Subera, Lower Cenozoic Era.

Material: Nearly complete skull lacking from its right side the anterolateal margin of premaxilla, posteriormost part of the maxilla, anterior part of the jugal and from the left side the postorbital, squamosal, jugal and quadratojugal.
