Etymology: In reference to Wakka Wakka First Nations people of the area where the fossils were found, Greek, ova, "egg" and Greek, -lithos, "rock or stone."

Etymology: In honor of Henk Gothelp for his long-term involvement in the collection and interpretation of teh vertebrate fauna from the Tingamarra deposit.

Holotype: OMF61945

Locality: Murgon fossil site, Queensland State, Australia.

Horizon: Tingamarra Local Fauna, Oakdale Sandstone.

Age: Lower Eocene Epoch, Paleogene Period, Early Tertiary Subera, Lower Cenozoic Era.
