Etymology: Latin, velox (gen. velocis), "swift."

Locality: SW 1/4, Sec. 17, T4S, R69W, on Bear Creek Road from Morrison to Denver, Jefferson County, Colorado.

Horizon: Denver Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Lancian age, Late Maastrichtian Stage, Uppermost Senonian Subepoch, Uppermost Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Fragmentary left metatarsus and digits 1-3 of phalanx II.
