Etymology: In reference to Qinling, the area where the specimen was found, and Greek, sauros, “lizard”: Qinling lizard.

Etymology: In reference to where the specimen was found, Luonan, Intermontane Basin, Eastern part of Qinling, China.

Holotype: NWUV 1112

Locality: Hongtuling range, Luonan, Shaanxi, Intermontane Basin, Eastern part of Qinling, China.

Horizon: Hongtuling Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Cretaceous.

Material: A complete right ilium, fragment of ischium and a caudal vertebra.
