Genus: Mongolosaurus GILMORE, 1933 (nomen dubium)
Etymology: In reference to Inner Mongolia, and Greek, sauros, “lizard”: “Mongolian lizard”.

Species: haplodon GILMORE, 1933
Etymology: Greek, haploos, "single" and Greek,  odousodontos, "tooth."
= Mongolosaurus hoplodon YOUNG, 1937 (sic)

Holotype: AMNH 6710

Locality: Hu Khung Ulan, Hukongwulong, Ordos (Shaan-Gan-Ning) basin, Inner Mongolia (Nei Mongolia), China.

Horizon: Bayanhua Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Berriasian Stage, Lower Neocomian Subepoch-Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Fragmentary teeth (A), basioccipital (B), atlas (C), fragmentary axis and third cervical vertebra (D).
