Etymology: Latin, rubes, adjective "thornbush or bramble" and Latinized Greek noun, saurus, "lizard"; Thornbush lizard, in reference to the array of spikes adorning the parietals.

Material: Posterior portion of frill and numerous fragments.

Material:

USNM 14765: Right half of frill lacking the squamosal, articulated left postorbital, jugal, postfrontal and prefrontal, lachrymal and supraorbital, right maxillary containing several teeth, left premaxillary, rostal, a portion of the right half of the nasal horn core, fragment of the basioccipital, unidentified skull fragments, both femora, left scapula, first rib, one dorsal vertebra, and two phalangeial bones. An adult.
