Etymology: As per Olshevsky 2000..."Fritsch used the species epithet exogirarum, but since this derives from the scientific name Exogyra, a shell common to the type locality, it shoudl be spelled exogyrarum, as Fritsch adn others have actually done, inadvertently, in subsequent works. (The epithet exogirarum may be considered an unjustified emendation of the generic name Exogyra.)...(Type)
