Etymology: In honor of William Arthur Parks, and Greek, sauros, "lizard": Parks lizard.

Etymology: In honor of H.D. Warren (female), who funded the research.

Holotype: ROM 804

Locality: East side of the Red Deer River, immediately south of the road to Rumsey Ferry, 100 feet above 5 the level of water, Starland County, Alberta Province, Canada.

Horizon: Horseshoe Canyon Formation, Edmonton Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Edmontonian age, lower Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
