Etymology: In reference to the Jaxartes River, in Kazakhstan, near where the specimen was found and Greek, sauros, “lizard”: “Jaxartes (River) lizard”.

Locality: As per NORMAN & SUES, 2000…Alim Tau site, Chuley region of the Chimkent/Tashkent area of eastern Kazakhstan (old Kyrk-kuduk, in the region of the Allym-tau Range west of Sary-Agach railway station, Kazakhstan).

Horizon: Dabrazinskaya Svita.

Age: Turonian Stage, Uppermost Gallic Subepoch-Santonian Stage, Lower Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Posterior part of skull, dentale, suarangular, 4 cervical, 2 dorsal, humerus, ischium, femur, and tibia.
