Etymology: Greek, thyra, "door or gate" and Greek, kolasi, "hell." In refrence to teh extreme temporal proximity of this taxon to the Late Cretaceous mass extinction event.

Locality: Fontllonga-R (Fontllonga Casanovas et al, 1999), a locality near the eponymous village, next to the c-13 road that lies between the municipalities of Camarasa and La Baronia de Sant Oisme, Noguera County, in the southern reaches of the Montsec mountain range, Iberian Peninsula, Ager Syncline, province of Lleida, Catalonia Pyrenees, Spain.

Horizon: Figuerola Formation, Tremp Group.

Age: Latest Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian subepoch, Upper Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Left fragmentery dentary.
