Etymology: In reference to Zhenghe County, where the holotype was found and Latin, ornis, “bird”: Great-great-grandfather bird.

Species: buyu WANG, TANG, DENG, DONG, XU, XU, LIN, DU, LIN, CHEN, ZHANG & ZHOU, 2026
Etymology: Mandrin, buyu, from the ancient Chinese book Guoyu, referring to the unique tail and pelvic morphologies preserved in this species.

Holotype: IVPP V34168 (part and counterpart)

Locality: Near Yangyuan Village, Zhenghe Country, Nanping City, Fujian Province, China.

Horizon: Nanyuan Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Tithonian Stage, Malm Epoch, Late Jurassic.

Material: Partially complete skeleton (most of limb bones are preserved as molds) with feathers preserved.
