Genus: Lectavis CHIAPPE, 1993
Etymology: Lectus, Latin to the equivalent to the Spanish word Lecho (“bed”), in reference to the Lecho Formation, and Latin, avis, “bird.”

Species: bretincola CHIAPPE, 1993
Etymology: Bretincola from the combination of “Brete” and the Latin, incola, “an inhabitant.”

Holotype: PVL-4021-1

Locality: 26°02’07”S, 65°19’57”W, Estancia El Brete, Department of Candelaria, Salta Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Lecho Formation, Balbuena Subgroup, Salta Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian Subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Tibiotarsus and incomplete tarsometatarsus, missing the distal end of the latter and most of metatarsal IV.
