Etymology: In reference to Cape Province, South Africa.

Holotype: SAM 2758

Locality: Oorlog's Kloff, Calvinia, Northern Cape Province, South Africa.

Horizon:

Biostratigraphy: Base of the Cistecephalus zone.

Age: Tatarian Age, Lopingian Subepoch, Zechstein Epoch, Late Permian.

Material: Skeleton lacking skull cervicals scapula, coracoid, some ribs, phalanges and the end of tail.

Locality: Meerderyk, Colesberg, west Northern Cape Province, South Africa.

Horizon:

Biostratigraphy: Cistecephalus zone.

Material:

Bernard Price Institute No. 4286: Right maxilla, lacking the anterior portions, dentary missing anterior tip, and fragmentary skeleton.

After Carroll, 1976 (I'm not sure this belongs to the type species).
