Genus: Airistagiz SOBRAL & SCHOCH, 2026
Etymology: Genus name from the Proto-Germanic 'airist' (earliest, formeost; nominative singular femininie ending -i excluded from aesthetic purposes) and 'agiz' (lizard; feminine nominatie singular), in allusion to SMNHS 9139 being the first reptile material ever found in that locality.

Etymology: In honor of Dr. Dieter Seegis for his many contributions to Triassic statigraphy and faunal assemblages.

Holotype: SMNS 91319

Locality: Schumann limestone quarry, south-east of Eschenau, municipality of Velberg, Baden-Württenburg State, Germany.

Horizon: Lower Keuper (Erfurt Formation).

Biostratigraphy: Untere Graue Mergel, unit E6c-d.

Age: Longobardian, Ladinian Stage, Late Mid Triassic Epoch, Late Middle Triassic.

Material: Associated elements, both parietals, frontals, partial prefrontals, right postfrontal, post orbital, jugal, maxilla and premaxilla.

Referred material:

SMNS 91110-A: Partial left prefontal, frontal, postfrontal, postorbital, both mandibles, complte left huemrus, radius, adn ulna, left ilium, as well as partial manual and verteral ements.

SMNS 91110-B: Impression of lower jaw and partial squamosal.
