Etymology: Latin, robustus, ‘strong’: in reference to it’s large size.

Holotype: IVPP V 124549

Locality: Lujiatun Village, Biepiao, Liaoning Province, China.

Horizon: First member, Yixian Formation.

Age: Early Jurassic.

Material: Nealry complete skull and mandibles, and some post-cranial bones.
