Etymology:

Holotype: MLU.GeoS.1612

Locality: Merkel's quarry, eastwards from Bernburg an der Saale, Sachsen-Anhalt State, Germany.

Horizon: Platy sandsteon unit within Chirotheriensandstein, upper part of Solling Formaiton, top of the middle Buntsandstein Subgroup.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aegean, Anisian Stage, Lower Mid Triassic Epoch, Lower-Middle Triassic boundary.

Material: Skeleton lacking cervical vertebrae and skull.
