Genus: Manistropheus EZCURRA, SUES & FR ÖBISCH, 2025
Etymology: Old Norse, mani, the personification of the Moon in Germanic mythology and Greek, stropheus, "vertebra". The former refers to the lunate shape of the autapomorphic fossa immediately dorsal to the diapophysis and that more anteriorly separates the base of the prezygapophysis from the rim of the centrum.

Etymology: In honor of the late Jens Kulick who was a leading expert on the geology of the Zechstein and first found bones in the Korbach fissure-filling.

Holotype: SMNK-PAL 76022

Locality: Firssure filling in the Werra Carbonate, former Fieseler limestone quarry, 1 km south of Korbach, 51°17'N, 8° 52'E, north-western Hesse State, Germany.

Horizon: Werra Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Wuchiapingian Stage, Lopingian Subepoch, Zechstein Epoch, Late Permian.

Material: Isoalted probably fourth cervical vertebra.
